A feature documentary on the life and legacy of exiled Cuban artist Ana Mendieta as told by friends and family after her death split the art world in the mid-1980s.

Whispering Cave

In 1981, artist Ana Mendieta created several sculptures in the caves of Jaruco, Cuba. 36 years later, her niece becomes convinced that the lost cave is a myth and she sets out on a journey to find it.

Short documentary premiered in Paris at the Museum Jeu de Paume in 2018. Available upon request.

 

Ana Mendieta, Nature Inside

Artist, Ana Mendieta, narrates as corresponding images of her work in both still and moving images highlight her themes and meanings behind her work. The documentary includes several Super 8mm film clips from previously unseen Mendieta filmworks, which were recently scanned to 2K/HD.

The film traveled with the exhibition "Covered in Time and History: The Films of Ana Mendieta" from September 2015 – January 2019, which culminated at the Jeu de Paume in Paris, France. It is on view permanently in Havana, Cuba at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and part of the collection of the Middelheim Museum in Belgium. Available upon request.

Meet the Mothers

A young couple discovers they're going to have a baby and have yet to meet each others parents. Rosie is nervous about telling her boyfriend Drew that she has two lesbian moms, a gay dad and a gay brother and when she finally gets the courage to come out -- Drew surprises her with a secret of his own.

Premiered at The Los Angeles Short Film Festival in 2011.
